I often use the technique of through wedged tenons for building tables. This technique goes back hundreds of years and is being used in areas from North Wales, Styria (Austria) to Rumania and further afield. The simple principle of wedging dry wood into wood with a higher moisture content makes for extremely strong joints.
The grain of the wood inspires simple shapes – being open and flexible is very important.
